Onboarding and orientation - maximising new employee performance
The employment landscape continues to change - much too rapidly for most organisations. In today's highly competitive employment marketplace, companies must shift their hiring mindset from one of a "buyers" point of view to that of a "sellers". The tendency today is to spend more time selling your organisation to candidates so they want to become part of your team. This is what we refer to as your employment brand. To gain the highest productivity and the greatest longevity with new hires, wise employers are engaging their people through a comprehensive orientation process, and through a somewhat reinvented process called onboarding.

Team building magic
The concept of team building is largely misunderstood in business today. Many organisations view team building as buying team hats, t-shirts and jackets, hiring motivational speakers to pump up the group, ad hoc team building workshops, occasional team dinners, golf games, boat trips, BBQs and pool parties. These activities by themselves do not constitute team building. They are often a reactive, one-time response that hopes to fix an underperforming team. They do not support the creation of meaningful, long-term change that both strengthens and builds teams. If poor leadership or an adverse environment hinders a team, then team building, as a one off recreational based endeavour, certainly won't cure the underlying illness.

Performance management - getting to the heart of the matter: the six steps to great performance reviews
There has been much debate on the value of traditional performance reviews. This is because traditional reviews are based on activities and skill sets that have little to do with achieving business objectives. Aligning the values and objectives of a company to the behaviours of its employees, including the best performing individuals, is the central concept of an effective organisational performance management strategy.

This white paper explores how to align an integrated performance management programme with career development going beyond activities to focus on measurable results.

Distinguishing between similar candidates is a complex process, particularly in today's technology-driven, increasingly educated and information-rich environment.

This white paper highlights the current challenges and pitfalls faced by organisations when it comes to resume screening as well as various recommendations on how to overcome them. For those who can get it right, much greater will their success be in hiring the most appropriate people for their organisation.
